The former changes accelerator pedal and shift point mapping, while the latter re-adjusts the dampers. The system's computer reduces the impact of potholes by blunting wheel travel to prevent the tire from reaching the bottom of the pothole.
The base engine of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ Sedan is a 240-hp 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-four and a more powerful 300-hp 3.7-liter V-6 is also available. Both these engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is optional. A four-cylinder hybrid model with 188 total system hp, using a CVT, will be offered. The MKZ has an Aston-inspired tail, with the integrated rear spoiler on the flowing rear deck. It also has all the technical goodies of the Ford version plus Lincoln's new 24/7 concierge service.
