Everything about the Super Duty is heavy duty. The 2008 Ford Super Duty features new interior and exterior styling, re-engineered suspension and a new diesel engine. Designed to cater to the needs of a growing agricultural, boat, and RV trailer market, the 2008 Super Duty is a workhorse with a towing capacity of 15,000 pounds, yet it is more comfortable, and environmentally friendly, a term not normally associated with big trucks.
Three engines are available: a gasoline powered V8, a gasoline V10, or a 32-valve, 6-liter, PowerStroke turbo-diesel V8 that makes 325 horsepower and an awesome 570 lb.-ft. of torque. The truck features heavy-duty, gas-pressurized shocks, disk brakes, ABS and stainless steel exhausts. Without a load the ride is stiff, but the cabin is comfortable and warm, good enough for a work truck. Fifth-wheel towing is rated at 19,200 pounds, Payload is 5,800 pounds, GVRC is 26,000 pounds and GVWR is 13,000 pounds. Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, dual front airbags, adjustable height outboard belt anchors, child-seat LATCH anchors, and a passenger airbag deactivation switch on regular and SuperCabs.
